I love this place. Our family usually goes to Chinatown for Chinese food, but this place is just as good. It does cater to Americans, but they also have traditional dishes on their menu, and you can make requests if you don't see what you want on the menu. Food is fresh and they don't add MSG! This place has become our go-to on weekdays.

Recently moved to Houston and tried this place ... It was excellent. Staff is very friendly and food will not disappoint. The Chicken with Garlic Sauce was my favorite. The outside of the shopping strip needs some help but dont let that discourage you.

Recently ate at Feng Ling. I had the Kung Pao Chicken & my husband had the Mongolian Beef. We both had Egg-drop soup. The food was very good. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We throughly enjoyed the quiet ambiance and being able to actually have a conversation over dinner. We'll be returning often. Highly recommend.

Simple pleasures abide...great service, great food, nicely priced and very generous portions. Even the lunch specials I had the Jalapeno Chicken - large chunks of chicken, red bell peppers and jalapeno slices in a tangy brown sauce. My friend had Tofu with Mixed Vegetables - the tofu was fried and accompanied with large carrot planks, bok choy, snow peas, mushrooms and onion. Everything was delicious

Tell you the truth, I have never been to Feng Ling Restaurant 楓林中餐館 before. Back in 2015 and 2016, I promoted it during Time for Taiwan Restaurant Month. I waited until now to visit because I couldn't find it. I saw the sign at the street corner by Walgreens. I had no idea it's in the same building with 2nd Debut Furniture store. So, today on Good Friday, I was dodging from the heavy rain and broken traffic lights on Westheimer. I decided to grab something to eat at this strip center. I browsed all the little restaurants and... eh? Feng Ling Restaurant is right in the middle. Ok, let me give them a try. My first impression was... huge dining room and there are a couple of round tables with Lazy Susy. It appeared that they kept the same layout from the 6-foot distance CoVid dining style. Furniture was not impressive but the giant painting with mural were top of the line. I believe people love to party here with that authentic decoration. One thing I had an issue was the menu. It's all in English. That just means it caters to Americans who like Chinese food. I saw an item very interesting. I asked the waiter to pronounce DoLou Noodles in Chinese for me. (Thank goodness, please don't do me.) That is actually Da Lu Mien 大鲁麺 - thick noodles with pork strips and vegetables in thick soup. It's actually my favorite when I lived in Taiwan. That means I will be back often.

With Fengs like this, who needs enemies? Some of the items here are good and a lot of them are not so good. So it really depends on what you order. It's mainly Americanized Chinese food but you can find some gems hidden away on the menu. I mean I'll give them a good rating because I like the owner and think that it's been a family-run business for decades now, and one which has a lot of heart and soul. And for heart and soul earns it 4 stars.
